Reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur will pay Roberto Soldado's €30m (£25.8m) asking price.

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have reached an agreement with Valencia for the €30m (£25.8m) transfer of Roberto Soldado.

The two clubs have been locked in talks after the North Londoners opened the bidding at €26m (£22.4m) and were reluctant to meet the demands of Los Che president Amadeo Salvo.

However, a number of reports in Spain - most notably from Valencia Cadena Sur journalist Fran Guaita - suggest that a deal has been struck and all that remains is to agree on the method of payment.

The Spanish international has scored 82 goals in all competitions since arriving from Getafe in 2010 as a €10m (£8.6m) replacement for David Villa.

It is believed that he will travel to London for a medical and could be announced as a Spurs player as early as tomorrow.
