Israeli midfielder Nir Biton emerges as a reported transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City will reportedly battle for the signature of Israeli midfielder Nir Biton.

The 20-year-old, dubbed the 'new Patrick Vieira', has been training with Spurs in recent weeks ahead of a potential move to the North London club.

However, the owner of his current club FC Ashdod, Jacky Ben-Zaken, has insisted that City are also in the picture.

"It is not a case of Nir being on trial. He is training with Tottenham and having a look at them, and we will see what develops. But he also did well at City, when he spent time with them, and they are still a possibility," he told reporters.

Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest.
