Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon midfielder Pedro Goncalves, with a possible move on the cards in the January transfer window.
The Portuguese international has been an ever-present this season for Sporting, featuring in every match of their current campaign.
The 25-year-old has shown his versatility, operating on either flank while also playing in central attacking midfield when needed.
According to The Sun, Spurs scouts have been impressed by the midfielder's performances, having watched him several times this season, most recently against Primeira Liga champions Benfica last weekend.
The report adds that Goncalves has a £60m release clause attached to his name and is being considered as an option by the London club to support James Maddison in the attacking midfield role.
Ange Postecoglou is currently dealing with several key player injuries at present, with Maddison and Richarlison among the attacking options that have been sidelined already this season.
Goncalves has registered five goals and four assists this season, following up on a solid campaign last year when he scored 20 goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions.
Spurs conceded back-to-back defeats ahead of the international break and will return to league action next weekend when they face Aston Villa at home.
