Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite his affinity to the Saints, Ward-Prowse has been linked with a move away from St Mary's this summer with Aston Villa said to be keen on his signature.
Southampton are determined to retain the services of their key man having just allowed Danny Ings to make the switch to the West Midlands outfit.
However, according to The Telegraph, Spurs are monitoring the situation as they look to strengthen in the middle of the pitch.
Chairman Daniel Levy would need to be prepared to spend well in excess of £30m to get a deal for Ward-Prowse over the line.
Spurs could potentially offset any financial outlay with the sale of Harry Winks, who has been linked with a number of other Premier League clubs.
