Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an offer for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare as they attempt to beat a number of clubs to the Frenchman's signature.
The 20-year-old has made 25 appearances for his French club during the 2019-20 campaign, including six outings in the group stages of the Champions League.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both thought to be admirers of midfielder, with the Premier League duo consistently credited with an interest during the January transfer window.
However, according to L'Equipe, Tottenham have now launched an official bid for Soumare and hope to complete a deal before the end of the month.
The report claims that Spurs could have a slight advantage over their rivals due to the fact that Jose Mourinho's assistant coach Joao Sacramento has previously worked with the youngster at Lille.
Soumare appeared twice against Chelsea during Lyon's 2019-20 Champions League group-stage campaign.
