Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart denies that he will leave the club this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has quelled speculation that he will leave the London club this summer.

It had long been suggested that the 29-year-old would depart Spurs before the start of the season, with Hamburg reportedly leading the race.

However, the Dutchman has denied such claims and also moved to praise new boss Andre Villas-Boas.

"My place is at Spurs, I want to win the title with this club. Each summer my name appears in the transfer market. The race for the top four will be a total war from the very first day," he told The Sun.

"The new coach has good plans for me and this is important. I have heard excellent reports about AVB. We have very good attacking and if AVB imposes an offensive system the team could be a real spectacle."

Van der Vaart scored 13 goals for Spurs last season.
