Dave Mackay has agreed a new contract with Scottish Premiership outfit St Johnstone.
The 34-year-old's previous deal at McDiarmid Park had been due to expire at the end of the ongoing campaign.
However, the skipper has now committed his future to the club until the summer of 2016.
"It's great news for us and provides another piece in the jigsaw for next season already," manager Tommy Wright told the club's official website.
Mackay joined St Johnstone from Livingston back in 2009.
