Patrick van Aanholt: Sunderland have "got to move on"

Sunderland full-back Patrick van Aanholt encourages the team "to move on" from their recent errors.

Patrick van Aanholt has urged his Sunderland teammates to not dwell on their recent mistakes and results.

Following an 8-0 defeat to Southampton, the Black Cats lost 2-0 to Arsenal on Saturday. Both goals were scored by Alexis Sanchez, who capitalised on errors committed by Sunderland pair Wes Brown and Vito Mannone.

However, ahead of next weekend's trip to Crystal Palace, Chelsea loanee Van Aanholt believes that it is important that the squad does not get bogged down by their slip ups.

"We've just got to move on, keep our heads up and look towards Crystal Palace. We've got a whole week now to focus on Crystal Palace," he told the Sunderland Journal

"We just need to get a win and stick together. If you mistakes like that in the Premier League, it's a goal straightaway. We've got to learn from it and focus."

Gus Poyet's side are currently 18th in the Premier League.
