Swansea City captain Garry Monk has said that Olympic call-ups for his teammates are "not ideal" for their pre-season preparation.
Swansea are the best-represented club in the 18-man Team GB squad, with Scott Sinclair, Joe Allen and Neil Taylor all selected by Stuart Pearce.
Monk feels the absence of the trio will be difficult, especially with new manager Michael Laudrup still getting used to proceedings in South Wales.
"In terms of pre-season planning for the manager and preparations it's not ideal," said Monk.
"It's a very proud moment for those players and their families that they can represent Britain and their families in the Olympics, especially with it being this year."
Swansea travel to Queens Park Rangers on the opening day of the new Premier League season on August 18.
