Rodgers: Swansea will survive without me

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers insists that the Welsh club will have "continued success" when he decides to leave.

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that the Welsh Premier League outfit will continue to prosper after he leaves the club.

The 39-year-old, who signed a new contract with the Swans in February, has been touted as Harry Redknapp's replacement at Tottenham Hotspur.

"Swansea will be successful when I go," Rodgers told BBC Sport. "The most important thing is the club will have continued success because of their common sense approach which we've seen over their recent history.

"The club has an identity and they understand what it needs. There's a certain way here. So if I one day move on, the board are clever enough to select the right manager when that time comes, very much similar to what they have done before."

Swansea have impressed in their first season in the top flight and could finish in the top 10 of the table.
