Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has said that he hopes striker Bafetimbi Gomis stays at the club having been linked with a move away this month.
Gomis joined Swansea last summer but he has found game time hard to come by as first choice striker Wilfried Bony has kept him him out of the team.
However, Bony is reportedly set to move to Manchester City and Williams hopes that Gomis stays and makes the position his.
He told reporters: "It has been difficult for Bafi, coming into the club under Wilf. He has had to be very patient. However, he's been good over the last few weeks and shown exactly what he's all about.
"With Wilf in the Africa Cup of Nations - and who knows what's going to happen with him down the line - Bafi has a chance. I would hope that he stays with the club. But, as I say, he's got his chance now and it's time to shine."
Gomis helped Swansea to a 1-1 draw with West Ham United at the weekend.
