Mario Balotelli is reportedly pushing to secure another stint in Serie A.
The 34-year-old has already spent time at 11 different clubs during his professional career, including some of the biggest teams that Italian and English football has to offer.
Balotelli put together a run of representing Inter Milan, Manchester City, AC Milan and Liverpool between 2007 and 2016 before he became somewhat of a nomadic name in European football.
His latest stint was a second spell in Turkey with Adana Demirspor, scoring seven goals from his 16 appearances in Super Lig.
However, the forward has been a free agent all summer without being able to agree terms with any interested teams.
Back to Italy?
Three years have passed by since Balotelli last played in Italy, scoring five goals in 12 appearances for Monza in Serie B.
Nevertheless, as per La Repubblica, Genoa are attempting to get a deal over the line for the former Italy international.

The report suggests that head coach Alberto Gilardino has already made contact with Balotelli to determine whether there is any interest in a transfer.
Balotelli has seemingly given the green light to a move if terms can be agreed, those negotiations expected to continue over the coming days.
Gilardino and Balotelli are no strangers to each other having played together for Italy between 2010 and 2013.
Why are Genoa in the market for a new striker?
Genoa may have scored twice in a draw with Inter Milan on the second weekend of the campaign, but they have barely found the back of the net since then.
Just five goals have been netted in their seven Serie A outings, with only two strikes being scored in the most recent five games.
Not one player has scored more than once with Vitinha and Andrea Pinamonti failing to make a notable impression down the centre of the attack.
