Uruguay's Diego Godin wary of "strong" England at World Cup

Uruguay's Diego Godin believes that England pose a threat in next month's World Cup in Brazil.

Uruguay defender Diego Godin believes that he and his teammates face a tough test against England at the World Cup in Brazil next month.

The 28-year-old, who won the La Liga title with Atletico Madrid last season, will join Uruguay in Group D alongside the Three Lions, Italy and Costa Rica.

While England's chances of World Cup glory have been downplayed on home soil, Godin believes that Roy Hodgson's men cannot be underestimated.

"We have been given a group with very strong teams," Godin said in a press conference.

"England do not talk much but I think it is a very strong team with players going through a great time. They are at a high level and it is going to be very difficult."

Uruguay will face England in Sao Paulo on June 19.
