Ever Banega run over by own car

Valencia midfielder Ever Banega is ruled out for six months with a broken ankle after being run over by his own car.

Valencia midfielder Ever Banega is facing a six-month spell on the sidelines with a broken ankle after he was run over by his own car.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon as the Argentine midfielder stopped for petrol. He failed to apply to the handbrake and the vehicle rolled back, trapping his foot in the process.

"The player Ever Banega has suffered an accident with his own car after training on Sunday when he received a trauma to his left leg that caused a fracture to his tibia and the perone bones," Valencia said in a statement.

Banega, 23, will undergo surgery later today and will spend the next few days in hospital.
