West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke admits that West Ham United probably deserved their point in today's goalless draw at the Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has admitted that his side struggled to create chances against a resolute West Ham United side.

The Baggies were held by the Hammers at the Hawthorns this afternoon, despite shading possession and chances in a tight affair.

Clarke believes that both sides deserved a point for their efforts in a physical battle.

He told BBC Sport: "If you look at the season as a whole we have done OK. Sometimes you have to draw games. Today there were not many chances.

"Both sides huffed and puffed a little bit. If you assess the game properly then I think a draw was a fair result.

"I don't think either ourselves or West Ham played as well as we can. We knew today we had to stop a run of three defeats."

The point keeps West Bromwich Albion in sixth place in the Premier League table, level with Everton and two points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fourth.
