Sam Allardyce claims that there is no 'West Ham way', despite criticism of the team's style of play by the club's supporters.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has defended the Hammers' style of play following criticism from the Championship side's supporters.

The former Bolton Wanderers boss recently claimed that he was "sick" of hearing fans chant "we're West Ham United, we play on the floor" during his side's 2-0 win over Peterborough United on Tuesday.

"There has never been a 'West Ham way' shown to me, not by anyone who has worked at the club," said Allardyce. "I've spoken to a lot of people at the club and no one can tell me what it is, so it is a bit of a delusion."

The former Premier League side have dropped out of the top two spots in the table, with one point separating them from second-placed Reading.
