West Ham United joint chairmen warn fans that they face the "harshest sanctions" if any incidents of racism emerge following Monday's match against Tottenham.

West Ham United joint chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan have stated that supporters will face the "harshest sanctions" if any cases of racism are brought to light on Monday.

The former Championship club take on Tottenham Hotspur at Upton Park and are hoping to avoid similar behaviour from the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane, which was marred by anti-semitic chanting.

A statement on the club's official website said: "We have made it very clear that we will not tolerate any form of discriminatory behaviour and one by one we will root out those fans that do not deserve to represent this great club of ours.

"We must be clear that we will pursue the harshest sanctions against any individual who goes against what we stand for as a club."

Meanwhile, Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that he will "walk away" from West Ham if they fail to retain their Premier League status.
