West Ham United plotting Mauro Icardi swoop?

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is Slaven Bilic's number one summer transfer target at West Ham United, according to a report.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has reportedly instructed the club's board to begin transfer negotiations with Inter Milan to sign Mauro Icardi.

The Hammers are believed to be eager to bolster their attacking ranks this summer ahead of the switch to the Olympic Stadium.

As a result, a whole host of names have been linked with the club, including Daniel Sturridge, Christian Benteke and Wilfried Bony.

However, it is Inter frontman Icardi that has captured Bilic's attention, according to The People.

The report adds that West Ham are prepared to meet the Argentine's buyout clause, which is thought to be worth around £28m.

Icardi has scored 15 Serie A goals this season, having also finished as the division's top scorer last term.
