West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has reportedly added Obafemi Martins to his list of January transfer targets.
Injury to Andy Carroll has left the 59-year-old with just Modibo Maiga and Mladen Petric at his disposal - a combination that has failed to bring a single goal so far this season.
A number of options have been put forward - including Diego Forlan, Diego Milito and Andre-Pierre Gignac - but according to The Telegraph, a loan move for former Newcastle United man Martins may suffice.
The Nigerian international, currently at MLS side Seattle Sounders, scored 35 goals in seasons with the Magpies before leaving for Wolfsburg in 2009.
Martins is said to be keen on playing during the MLS close season with the World Cup coming up next summer.
