Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez says that his team must not let their FA Cup glory distract them from their final two Premier League matches.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that his team need to put their FA Cup celebrations behind them to focus on the final two games of their season.

The Latics, who are currently four points away from safety, must win their next matches against Arsenal and Aston Villa in order to retain their Premier League status.

While Martinez has expressed his delight in making history with Wigan by winning the FA Cup courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the final on Saturday, the Spaniard has claimed that the celebrations have to wait.

"It was a moment that changed the perception of our club for millions of people outside the UK and that is really positive but it doesn't need affect the next two matches," BBC Sport quotes Martinez as saying.

"To see a team like us deservedly win the trophy playing a powerhouse of world football in Manchester City is one of those incredible stories. The memories will live forever but we need to focus on the next two games."

Only Villa and Sunderland are realistically in danger of getting relegated to the Championship due to goal difference.
