Wolverhampton Wanderers wing-back Matt Doherty has talked up the transformative influence that head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has had on the team following his arrival at Molineux over the summer.
The Midlands side moved two points clear at the top of the Championship table on Saturday night courtesy of a 2-0 win over fierce rivals Aston Villa and are now odds-on favourites for promotion with most bookmakers.
Nuno moved to Wolves from Porto over the summer and oversaw a massive squad overhaul as well as a switch to a 3-4-3 formation, a tactical change that Doherty believes has been a huge benefit.
"Everybody has a lot of respect for what he's bringing to the table and the things he's trying to get us to do," Doherty, an ever-present in the league so far this season, told the Wolves website.
"And when he does try to get us to do stuff it works more often than not.
"When he's trying to implement his ideas we know there's a good chance it'll benefit the team."
Next up for the table-toppers is a home encounter with Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.
