Wolverhampton Wanderers have clinched the signature of Hearts midfielder Eggert Jonsson on a three-and-half-year contract effective from January 1.
The 23-year-old, who has racked up 153 appearances for the Scottish side, is a versatile player, with experience in defence as well as across the midfield.
"We've been watching Eggert for a long time and he has impressed Dave [Bowman] and our scouts up there," Mick McCarthy told the club's official website. "He's a versatile midfield player who can play in a number of positions comfortably and will be a good addition to the squad.
"He's a good player now but he's also one of those at an age where he has got more improvement in him and should get better and better. And playing alongside better players in a better league will only help him in that respect."
The Iceland international will join up with the Wolves squad at the beginning of January.
