Queens Park Rangers are reportedly close to submitting a bid to sign Portuguese international Bruno Alves.

Queens Park Rangers have reportedly declared their interest in signing Portuguese international Bruno Alves.

The Zenit St Petersburg defender is believed to be open to the possibility of a transfer this summer, with Italian clubs AC Milan and Juventus monitoring his situation closely.

However, QPR boss Mark Hughes is keen to acquire the 30-year-old and will firm up his interest by submitting a £10.9m offer to Zenit, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Hughes is said to have turned his attention to boosting his defensive ranks, having already signed a number of midfielders and strikers so far this summer.
