Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo has called on his Formula 1 team to explain why the car's recent updates did not provide driver Fernando Alonso with enough power to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Spaniard finished second on the podium on Sunday behind Lotus Renault's Kimi Raikkonen, while Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel claimed third spot.
In a statement on the team's website Montezemolo said: "As far as Ferrari is concerned I want to understand why the new parts that we brought to the track only partially improved the performance of the F2012, which wasn't enough to allow Alonso to fight for the very front positions on the grid, despite the contrasting expectations of our engineers."
Alonso sits ten points behind Vettel in the drivers' rankings with two races left to go.
