Force India driver Paul di Resta believes that his team have the potential to reach the podium at Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix.

Force India driver Paul di Resta has insisted that the track in Montreal should suit the team's car.

Di Resta topped the standings in Friday's first practice session, and afterwards, he admitted that he feels his car has the potential to achieve a top-three position in Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Given the weekend in Bahrain, if we can unleash the car's potential we can get on the podium. In Bahrain, if we'd just been a little bit quicker we would have achieved it.

"Here suits our car a bit better but that doesn't mean we're going to get straight on the podium. It's hard work. Reading the conditions is key; we have to make sure we don't make any mistakes in qualifying and put ourselves in the best position for Sunday.

"It could be a big opportunity for us. As I've said, the speed is showing well. As long as we can maintain that then we'll have high hopes."

The Scot has already won 28 points during the opening six races of the season.
