Formula 1 organisers have insisted that they have gone to measures to ensure that stray dogs will not be able to roam on the Indian Grand Prix circuit.
Stray dogs made their way onto the circuit during the first practice session of last year's race weekend but it has been revealed that canine entry points have been blocked ahead of this year's race.
Askari Zaidi told the BBC: "We detected between six to seven entry points through which dogs or other stray animals were able to intrude on the circuit.
"These points have been completely sealed off, while fencing around the circuit has now got two layers. In addition, there will be a few teams of dog catchers around the circuit."
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel was quickest in the first practice session ahead of Sunday's Grand Prix.
