Former Marussia boss Graeme Lowdon has thanked fans for their support after his team ceased trading due to failing to attract new investors.
The Banbury-based constructor, which scored its first points thanks to Jules Bianchi's ninth-place finish in Monaco, was formally wound up with the loss of 200 jobs on Friday.
Lowdon took to Twitter after a "difficult few months" to pay tribute to Formula 1 fanatics and the sport itself.
He tweeted: "I just want to say a sincere thank you for all your messages of support. They're very much appreciated.
"F1 is the greatest team sport in the world and I'm proud to have worked with a great team of racers. Thanks."
Meanwhile, Caterham are hoping to continue racing after launching a £2.35m crowd-funding scheme with the aim of competing at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
