Sebastian Vettel has denied that he said Lewis Hamilton made a "stupid decision" when he made a move to unlap himself on Fernando Alonso in last weekend's German Grand Prix.
Vettel was adamant that he had been misquoted in the aftermath at Hockenheim.
The 25-year-old said: "I didn't say it was a stupid decision. If I say after the race that I think it was unnecessary and then it gets put and quoted that I said he is stupid, it is quite disappointing.
"Sometimes I have a mouth, I say a couple of words, you have ears but it seems that somewhere in that process mistakes do happen."
Vettel is currently third in the drivers' championship, trailing leader Fernando Alonso by 44 points going into this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.
