Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has insisted that it is "normal" for a driver to make the move to another team.
Alonso's admission comes after Lewis Hamilton announced last week that he was ending his stay at McLaren to join Mercedes and Alonso has admitted that he thinks Hamilton has made the right decision.
Ahead of this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, Alonso said: "I think it is normal. It is a step in your career.
"I think, for Lewis, it is a good thing to move on, and for McLaren. Prost went, Senna went, I went and now Lewis. It is normally for a better life, a good change."
Alonso currently leads the Formula 1 driver's standings by 29 points from Sebastian Vettel.
