Jenson Button has dropped the biggest hint yet that he could leave Formula 1 at the end of the season to race in the World Endurance Championship.
Button's future in F1 has been in doubt in recent months with suggestions that he will be replaced by Fernando Alonso, but the Briton appears to be intrigued by the prospect of a new challenge.
He told Formula 1's official website: "I've had some good chats with people about racing in WEC. Who knows! It looks very interesting and you obviously give it a bit of a thought.
"I am not stupid. I want to race next year. I want to be in a category that is competitive. And yes, it could be an exciting challenge."
Button joined McLaren after winning the world title in 2009 with Brawn.
