Mark Webber beats Sebastian Vettel to pole position in Abu Dhabi

Red Bull's Mark Webber will start from pole position at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after setting the fastest time in qualifying at the Yas Marina circuit.

Mark Webber has secured pole position for this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit.

The Australian narrowly beat Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel, who will start in second, while Nico Rosberg completed the top three.

Lewis Hamilton looked to have strong pace on his final lap of the session but spun, leaving his fourth-placed Mercedes stranded in the run-off area.

Nico Hulkenberg continued his recent strong form in qualifying, clinching sixth for Sauber, but Romain Grosjean could not match the pace of teammate Lotus Kimi Raikkonen, leaving the Frenchman seventh.

The Ferraris struggled for grip, resulting in Fernando Alonso missing out on a place in the top 10 for the first time this season, but teammate Felipe Massa managed eighth.

McLaren's Jenson Button also missed out on Q3, having complained of problems with his front wing, forcing him to start from 13th.
