Michael Schumacher sets the fastest time of qualifying in Monte Carlo but will start sixth on the grid tomorrow because of a penalty, meaning Mark Webber begins from pole.

Michael Schumacher turned back the years by setting the fastest time of qualifying at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The German will however not start from pole position in tomorrow's race because of his five-place grid penalty for a collision in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Schumacher will therefore start in sixth, behind Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Romain Grosjean and Fernando Alonso in the top five.

It was a difficult session for Hamilton's McLaren teammate Jenson Button, who couldn't make it to the top 10 shootout, finishing 13th.

He will, however, start the race in 12th as Pastor Maldonado, who received a 10-place penalty for crashing in the final practice session, drops to 19th.

The race on the Monte Carlo streets gets underway at 1pm tomorrow and you can follow live text coverage here on Sports Mole.

Top 10 for tomorrow's race:

1. Mark Webber
2. Nico Rosberg
3. Lewis Hamilton
4. Romain Grosjean
5. Fernando Alonso
6. Michael Schumacher
7. Felipe Massa
8. Kimi Raikkonen
9. Sebastian Vettel
10. Nico Hulkenburg
