Nico Rosberg hoping for Williams revival in Abu Dhabi

Nico Rosberg hopes that Williams can help his quest for a first world title.

Nico Rosberg is hoping that he can win the world championship with a little help from Williams.

The German needs to win Sunday's race in Abu Dhabi and hope that title rival Lewis Hamilton retires from the race or finishes lower than second.

However, Rosberg believes that Williams drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa have a key role to play.

He told reporters: "We need to wait and see because the Williams, for example, was actually looking pretty good at some points today. Of course, I'm hoping they're closer.

"The car feels good and the pace advantage seems to be there, for sure, at the moment, which is not necessarily a good thing. I need some help from someone else, but [Valtteri] Bottas is looking quick at times so we need to see where he really is.

"It's gone okay - not perfect. I haven't managed to get all my laps together properly. But I'm optimistic because I'm sure I'm going to get it together for qualifying. I'll adjust some settings and fine-tune."

Rosberg won the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo last time out to reduce the gap in the drivers' standings to 17 points.
