Jordan Niebrugge: 'Open silver medal a dream come true'

Jordan Niebrugge says that it was a "dream come true" to win the silver medal for leading amateur at The Open.

Jordan Niebrugge has described winning the silver medal at The Open as a "dream come true".

The American was one of five amateurs to make the cut at St Andrews, and finished with a score of 11-under.

"I would rank it up for sure the top accomplishment I've had so far: the Silver Medal in a major championship, especially at St Andrews, is definitely a dream come true," Niebrugge told Sky Sports News.

"I played in the Masters last year and the John Deere Classic (on the PGA Tour) this last summer and both of those experiences definitely made this a little easier.

"There is nothing like coming down the last hole, though. It's just an awesome amphitheatre - I was a little nervous."

Niebrugge also revealed that he will complete his studies at Oklahoma State university before deciding whether to turn professional.
