Lee Westwood reveals that Muirfield is in "incredible condition" ahead of next week's British Open.

Lee Westwood has predicted a "great" British Open after seeing the condition of the course at Muirfield.

The Englishman has opted to take a three-week break ahead of the tournament, but after practising on the course over the weekend, the world number 12 has revealed that the East Lothian links look "incredible".

The 40-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's in incredible condition. It will be a tough test. If there's a nice breeze blowing around there, it will be a difficult Open.

"The rough's up but the fairways and greens, everything's in superb condition. It could be a great Open."

The former world number one's best performance at an Open Championship was in 2010 when he finished tied for second place.
