Spain's Sergio Garcia faces an anxious wait to see if he has made the cut at the Open Championship at Muirfield after finishing his second round on six-over-par.

Spain's Sergio Garcia recorded a second-round 73 to leave his Open Championship campaign hanging in the balance.

Garcia began his round with four pars, before gaining a shot at the fifth hole.

He overcame the disappointment of dropping a shot at the eighth hole by recording a birdie at the ninth to reach the turn at three-over-par.

That was a score that would secure his place at the weekend, but a dropped shot at the 15th put the Spaniard in danger.

A further bogey at the 17th hole saw Garcia drop further down the leaderboard, before a 15-foot putt missed the hole on the last to leave the world number 15 on six-over-par.
