Ian Poulter would "love" to be named future Europe Ryder Cup captain

Ian Poulter says that he would "love" to captain Europe in the Ryder Cup "one day".

English golfer Ian Poulter has insisted that he would jump at the chance to captain the Europe Ryder Cup team in the future.

Darren Clarke has been widely tipped to replace Paul McGinley at the helm following Europe's 10th victory over the USA at Gleneagles in September.

"Hopefully I've got another 10 years in me before I ever get asked," Poulter told BBC Sport. "If I was ever asked to be captain then yes, I'd love to be a captain of a Ryder Cup team."

Poulter helped inspire Europe to victory at Medinah back in 2012.
