USA rookies Patrick Reed, Jordan Spieth comfortably win again at Ryder Cup

Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth continue their 100% record at the Ryder Cup by coming from two holes down to hammer Europe's Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer 5&3.

The American rookie duo of Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth have continued their 100% record at the 40th Ryder Cup by coming from two holes behind to hammer Europe's Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer 5&3 at Gleneagles.

Bjorn and Kaymer got off to a fantastic start when the latter made a winning birdie at the first before Bjorn extended their lead to two holes with another birdie.

That would be the last hole that the Europeans won, though, as Reed and Spieth triumphed on seven of the next 12 to end the match at the 15th.

Wins at five, six and nine saw the Americans go in front at the turn and it would have been even better had Bjorn not chipped in at the seventh.

A birdie from Spieth at the par-three 10th put USA 2 up and Reed then continued the duo's birdie run with two more at 13 and 14.

That put America 4 up with four to play and they clinched the win with another birdie, their seventh in 10 holes, on the par-four 15th.

The latest scoreboard now reads Europe 6-5 USA, with the final fourball match of the day a tight one between Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.
