Spain's Jon Rahm secures his second major title by winning the Masters by four shots at Augusta.

Jon Rahm has secured his second major title by winning the Masters by four shots at Augusta.

The Spaniard went into the final round trailing Brooks Koepka by two shots, but his relentless solid play came at a time when Koepka began to struggle off the tee.

Such was the contrasting fortunes that Rahm was at least two shots ahead for much of the final nine holes, and he never looked like giving up the chance to collect the green jacket on what would have been the 66th birthday of Seve Ballesteros.

Rahm, who returns to world number one in the process, posted birdies at the 13th and 14th holes, setting him up to cruise home with four pars.

As far as Koepka was concerned, his game dropped off during Sunday, the LIV player posting five bogeys on the way to a final-round 75.

To the American's credit, he battled on gamely during the closing stages, but the four-time major winner had to make do with a tie for second alongside an inspired Phil Mickelson.

The 52-year-old produced one of his best rounds in recent memory, making eight birdies as he posted a score of 65, the round of the day.

Jordan Spieth threatened to challenge at one stage but a bogey on the last took him out of contention, and he was joined in fourth by Patrick Reed and Russell Henley.

Cameron Young and Viktor Hovland were tied seventh, while Sahith Theegala recorded a 67 to edge his way into the top 10.

Matthew Fitzpatrick was the best of the English contingent, the 2022 US Open champion earning a share of 10th alongside the likes of 2022 Masters winner Scottie Scheffler.
