Scottie Scheffler has ended his wait for a PGA Tour title by winning the Phoenix Open in a playoff with Patrick Cantlay.
The 25-year-old has previously gone close on numerous occasions, his consistency earning him a place in the United States team for the 2021 Ryder Cup, but he was finally able to get over the line on Sunday evening.
Scheffler missed a five-and-a-half foot putt to win the tournament in regulation play, but a putt from 26 feet at the third playoff hole saw him edge out the world number four.
Xander Schauffele, Sahith Theegala and Brooks Koepka all had their own opportunities to reach 16-under-par after 72 holes before making mistakes during the closing holes.
That trio finished in a share of third spot, with Billy Horschel and Alex Noren a shot further back in a tie for sixth.
World number one Jon Rahm and England's Matt Fitzpatrick were among a group of four players who ended the tournament in 10th place.
