World number one Rory McIlroy sets sights firmly on Masters win

Rory McIlroy knows exactly what he wants to do in 2015 - win a first Masters title at Augusta.

Rory McIlroy has firmly set his sights on winning a first green jacket at The Masters after finishing a hugely successful 2014 season.

The 25-year-old collected the Race to Dubai trophy for being the European Tour's top player following his second-placed finish at the DP World Tour Championship behind European Ryder Cup teammate Henrik Stenson.

He won two Majors in 2014 - The Open and US PGA Championship - to take his career tally to four and the only one of the big four tournaments without his name on it is The Masters at Augusta.

When asked what the next goal was, the Northern Irishman replied without hesitation: "Green jacket.

"That's the only one left to complete the collection. I've got a chance to complete the career grand slam at 25, something I never thought would be possible.

"I'm going to work really hard and make sure I'm ready to go for April."

The world number one finished tied-eighth at The Masters earlier this year, but his performance at the 2011 tournament will be the one that haunts him.

He led going into the final day but then spectacularly collapsed by shooting a final-round 80 and finishing in a tie for 15th place.
