Billy Horschel admitted that holding his nerve on Sunday at the BMW Championship left him delighted following his final-round troubles just a week ago.
The American, who missed out on a chance to win the Deutsche Bank Championship with a poor shot on the 18th last Sunday, revealed his relief after holding off challenges from Bubba Watson and Morgan Hoffman for a two-shot victory.
"It just means a lot," Horschel told Sky Sports News. "I haven't had the greatest season, and I had my game today.
"This feels good. Obviously after last week a lot of people on Twitter and out there wanted to call me a choker. I didn't choke, I just hit a bad swing at the wrong time. I was coming from behind, you don't choke coming from behind.
"To lead this thing, to have the three-shot lead, to hold on, means a lot."
Horschel is currently second in the FedEx Cup standings heading into next week's season-ending Tour Championship.
