World number one Rory McIlroy has criticised the Blue Monster course after a series of low scores during this week's WGC-Cadillac Championship.
The Northern Irishman called upon property tycoon Donald Trump, who will complete his purchase of the course in June, to toughen up the Doral course.
Following another day of low scores on Saturday which saw Bubba Watson resume his lead with a total score of 17-under-par, McIlroy described the Miami course as "outdated".
"It's a resort golf course," the 22-year-old said. "It was a tough test 15 years ago but now it's just got outdated.
"They definitely need to do something with it and it's great to see that Trump is taking over the place and he is going to do a good job with it, I am sure."
McIlroy shot a 65 that included six birdies on the front nine to end day three on nine-under, eight shots off the lead of Watson.
