Rory McIlroy has confirmed that he will return to Wentworth in May to defend his BMW PGA Championship title.
The world number one and his Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose are two of the earliest players to announce their participation, and McIlroy has admitted that retaining his title is high on his list of priorities this year.
"Growing up in Belfast, the BMW PGA Championship always featured high on my list of priorities along with the major championships," the Northern Irishman told reporters.
"To return to Wentworth as defending champion is a huge honour and I can't wait to draw on the memories of 2014."
McIlroy beat Shane Lowry by one shot to triumph last year.
