Rory McIlroy: 'I'm back to my best form after Dubai triumph'

World number three Rory McIlroy says that he is "very happy" with the way he has ended the year, having won the Race to Dubai title for the third time in four seasons.

Rory McIlroy has suggested that he is back to his peak form after securing the Race to Dubai title.

The current world number three claimed a one-stroke victory over Andy Sullivan to win the competition for the third time in four seasons.

Seven birdies in 11 holes proved enough for McIlroy to come out on top, with the four-time Major winner ending a mixed campaign on a real high.

Asked if he felt he was closing in on his top performance levels, McIlroy told reporters: "I think I'm right there. The only thing that's been holding me back over the past few weeks was my putting. My ball-striking is right where I want it to be.

"All aspects of my game are in good shape now. If my game is in this shape going into next year, I'd be very happy and feel I could do very well."

McIlroy will now spend the next eight weeks away from competitive golf, having struggled with injury issues this year.
