Tiger Woods has attempted to shift focus away from Rory McIlroy by insisting that the Northern Irishman "knows what he's doing".
The former world number one has struggled this season by accumulating disappointing results, including a 41st finish at the US Open.
"People speculate about what he should and shouldn't do, but deep down he knows that he's doing," Woods said in a press conference.
McIlroy also missed the cut in his past two European events.
