Team England's Stephani Sherlock rues "silly mistakes" in all-around final

England's rhythmic gymnast Stephani Sherlock thinks that "silly mistakes" in the club rotation of the individual all-around final cost her a higher finish.

English rhythmic gymnast Stephani Sherlock has said that "silly mistakes" cost her a higher finish in today's individual all-around final at the Commonwealth Games.

The 17-year-old finished 11th and although she said that she was pleased overall, her 12.050 score in the club rotation disappointed her.

"I was quite pleased in general with today," she told Sports Mole. "I was disappointed with my clubs because I made silly mistakes again.

"I'm through to the hoop and ball final tomorrow so I've got one more chance to prove myself here.

"I hope I can [win a medal]. This is sport so the aim is to get on top but I won't be disappointed if I don't get a medal. I'll go for my best and see what happens."

Sherlock, who was born in Moscow but moved to England at the age of 13, just missed out on a medal in yesterday's team final as England finished fourth.
