British gymnast Max Whitlock to put Worlds individual disappointment behind him

British gymnast Max Whitlock insists that he will put the disappointment of his individual performances aside to focus on the team final at the World Championships.

Great Britain's Max Whitlock has insisted that he will put his sole focus into the team final after struggling in his individual events at the World Gymnastics Championships in Nanning, China.

The 21-year-old failed to qualify for the all-around and floor finals, both of which he won gold in at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in the summer.

On Tuesday, Whitlock and his fellow Brits Dan Keatings, Kristian Thomas, Nile Wilson, Dan Purvis and Courtney Tulloch will compete in the team final.

"It was really tough out there and I'm not sure quite what went wrong," Sportsbeat quotes Whitlock as saying. "I think I'm really feeling it now because there have been a lot of competitions this year, but I've just got to try and put it behind me and start with a clean slate come the team final."

The team qualified for the final by finishing in fourth place with a points total of 357.193.
