Alex Marquez pleased the pressure is off in Moto2

Alex Marquez believes that the pressure is off this season as he prepares for his Moto2 debut.

Alex Marquez believes that he can take more "risks" in Moto2 because the pressure is off following his Moto3 triumph last season.

The 18-year-old, who is the younger brother of MotoGP champion Marc Marquez, will represent Marc VDS's Estrella Galicia team as opposed to moving up to the elite.

"Yes, you don't have the pressure to win, win and win," Marquez told Crash.net. "You can play a little bit. You can take more risks in the races to make 120%.

"[You can] enjoy [it] and try and go on the limit. If you are happy [with yourself] and with the team you can make a really good job. Also you can do some surprises at the end of the year, so we will see."

Marquez finished 26th in the official test in Valencia, and 16th in Jerez.
