Former F1 ace Mark Webber injured in crash during Brazil race

Former Formula 1 driver Mark Webber is in a "satisfactory condition" in hospital after being injured in a crash during a race in Brazil.

Former Formula 1 driver Mark Webber has been taken to hospital after getting injured in a crash during a World Endurance Championship race in Brazil.

The 38-year-old, who races for Porsche, crashed into the barriers at the Six Hours of Sao Paulo after colliding with Matteo Cressoni's Ferrari.

A statement on Webber's official website said: "Mark was taken to the medical centre and has later been transferred to a hospital in Sao Paul. He is in a satisfactory condition and will stay overnight for further checks."

Webber left Formula 1 last year following a 12-year career in the sport.
